Computer forensics is an increasingly important field of evidence gathering, particularly useful where there is a suspicion of corporate fraud and/or a potential internal disciplinary investigation relating to the conduct of an employee.

As with all services provided by Blackhawk, we consult at the outset with clients as to the objectives and cost/benefit of any possible investigation, which ensures cost effectiveness for our client. With computer forensics our general strategy produces the following stages :-
  • Secure the computer unit(s) in question to prevent tampering
  • Produce a copy of the hard drive
  • Identify and recover all files (including recoverable deleted files)
  • Access / copy hidden, protected and/or temporary files
  • Investigate data/settings from installed applications and programs

Once a thorough computer forensic analysis has been completed, we will provide a detailed written report. We can also arrange for our London computer forensic experts to produce a witness statement detailing their computer forensic analysis, and they are experienced in giving oral evidence in civil or criminal proceedings as computer forensics expert witnesses.
